Sicilian avocados are an excellent product with a delicate, smooth flavor.
We have several varieties of avocado grown in Sicily: the HASS variety, a good size, is creamy and delicate.
Avocado is a truly unique fruit, as it begins to ripen only once picked from the tree, a process that can take up to 10 days.
To ensure a fresh product, our Sicilian avocados are harvested the same day your order is shipped. For this reason, the fruit may arrive unripe. You'll know a Sicilian avocado is ready to eat when, when you lightly press it, it begins to soften. Black spots may also begin to appear on the skin, another sign of advanced ripeness.
To best preserve avocados, keep them in a cool place; it's also advisable to refrigerate them in a zip-lock bag.
Excellent for salads, but also for meat or fish dishes, such as veal carpaccio or salmon!
All you have to do is experiment!
Our avocados are grown in Sicily, on the slopes of Mount Etna, in areas ideal for growing Italian tropical fruits, thanks to the volcanic soil and specific microclimates—a combination of elements that make it possible to grow avocados in Sicily without the use of chemicals.
AranciaBellino isn't just oranges: for several years, we've been selling avocados online and shipping Sicilian avocados to homes throughout Italy and Europe!
If you're looking for a farm that also delivers avocados to your home, you've come to the right place!
To better organize the harvest and ensure product freshness, orders containing avocados will be shipped every Monday.
